Baptism & Membership

Baptism is a symbol of joining Jesus in His death and resurrection. Through it, we identify with Him in death to our sinful life and resurrecting to a new life with God in Jesus Christ.

Believers did not wait until they were mature enough to prove their commitment to Jesus Christ by years of faithful service. Their baptism was a “badge of witness” that they chose to put on very shortly after conversion. It was one of the earliest steps of obedience taken by believers in the New Testament times.

We are saved from our sins as individuals, but are called to grow as disciples of Christ in a community of the family and the church. A church is just that: a group of people who believe in God through Jesus Christ.

Membership entails being in a convenant relationship with the other members of the church, including its vision, beliefs and leadership.
